About
Deboke Associates is a boutique architectural studio based in Sydney. We work with clients who believe in the transformative power of considered design — spaces built to endure, to inspire, and to belong.
Our philosophy
We believe the most powerful spaces are those that know what to leave out. Every element earns its place.
Materials chosen for their truth — raw concrete, aged timber, polished stone. Nothing pretends to be something it isn't.
We design with light as a primary material — understanding how it moves, reflects and transforms a space through the day.
Every project is designed with longevity in mind — structurally, aesthetically and emotionally.
How we work
A measured approach — from first conversation to final detail.
We begin by listening. Understanding your life, your vision and the particularities of your site before a single line is drawn.
2 — 4 weeks
Spatial ideas take form. We explore possibilities through sketches, models and precedent studies — testing ideas against the brief.
4 — 8 weeks
The preferred concept is refined into a detailed design, coordinating structure, materials and all building systems.
8 — 16 weeks
We remain actively engaged through construction — managing quality, resolving issues and ensuring the built reality honours the design.

6 Projects · 2021 – 2024
A considered renovation of a 1960s brick veneer, stripped back to its bones and rebuilt around a central courtyard. Raw concrete, white oak and north-facing glazing transform a neglected suburban block into a home defined by light and restraint.
A full-floor apartment gutted and reimagined as a single flowing space. Bespoke joinery conceals every function; limewash plaster walls absorb harbour light; aged brass hardware punctuates the quiet.
A former industrial warehouse converted into a creative studio. Exposed steel trusses, polished concrete floors and a mezzanine reading room create a workspace that balances raw origins with precision detailing.
A new-build family home set across two levels, organised around a double-height entry void. Spotted gum cladding, bluestone paving and a cantilevered upper floor create a home that is simultaneously grounded and weightless.
A coastal home designed for year-round outdoor living. Sliding glass walls dissolve the boundary between inside and out; a planted roof terrace filters the Sydney sun; materials chosen for their resilience against salt air.
Three terraces consolidated into a single dwelling, preserving the Victorian facade while inserting a contemporary rear extension of glass and blackened steel. The tension between old and new is the project's defining gesture.
